The JDM car scene is one of the most exotic, yet exciting parts of the car community. JDM means Japanese Domestic Market, so all the cars that are in the JDM community are designed in japan by companies such as Honda, Toyota, Mitsubushi, etc. These cars have limitless customization and the engines are built to be very tunable.
Most of these JDM cars are right hand drive because they are imported from Japan. These cars are purposely designed to have no limit to tuning ability. These cars are also mainly open platform so it makes it very easy to tune these cars without having problems with any of the computers in the car. These cars are super notorious for car shows and they will catch everyone’s eye. A lot of these cars are great for drifting and that is what a lot of people love using these great cars for. However, one of the main problems with this community for me is the absurd amount of ricers. A ricer is someone that will spend all of their money on cosmetics and nothing at all on the performance of the engine. Overall though I love the JDM car community because it is full of great people but most importantly some super cool cars.
A way to get a super cheap car is always by browsing the used/salvage car market. The Salvage market sells cars that have been totaled some way or another and requires repair in order to be able to be street legal again. Sometimes you can buy these super cheap cars and fix them for less than ten thousand, and BAM you have a car that could be worth double even tripple what you bought the car for originally.
Today, I decided to write about the new corvette; the 2020 C8 Corvette. This car has a completely new platform from the previous C7 corvette. This all new corvette features a mid engine design making it probably the coolest corvette ever. This beast of a machine can rocket from 0-60 in less than 4 seconds in its stock form. Unfortunately, this all new vette only comes with an automatic transmission and car enthusiasts are not very happy about this. However, its base 6.2 liter V8 LT2 engine can still be shifted manually using paddle shifters located on the steering wheel. This is the first time since 1952 that Chevrolet has not offered the manual transmission. This change is done for good reason though; having the shifting controlled by a wire enables the center tunnel of the car to be completely sealed off, making the structural integrity much stronger. This means that tuners will be able to put a higher load of torque on this stock transmission without problems.
This all new corvette also has much more subtle changes that make a huge difference in performance and comfort. First off, this is the first corvette to remove leaf spring suspension and implement a more modern coil springs on all four corners of the car. This makes cornering faster, and a much more comfortable ride. This Corvette comes stock with 495 horsepower and 471 LB feet of torque making it the fastest stock corvette to be released. This sick ride also has a rev limiter at 6600 rpms just so you don’t have to much fun in your new supercar. Because of this new corvette being mid engine, the cockpit has moved forward a whole 17 inches. This makes getting into this beast much easier. Overall, this corvette in my opinion is the coolest one to come out yet and I think it will make an enormous impact on the car world.
If you couldn’t tell already, one of my biggest passions is cars. It is a very expensive passion that you need money to really have the most fun with it. Money is not one thing that I have an abundance of, so I enjoy doing research and watching videos about cars so that I can know as much as possible for when it is my career.
Another one of my passions is basketball and I enjoy playing with my friends all of the time. I also enjoy following pro basketball and watching the big dogs go to work. One of the reasons I love basketball so much is that it requires a great deal of teamwork and effort to win the game. You have to be on your toes every second of the game and it makes the game super competitive.
Another one of my favorite hobbies is snowboarding. Snowboarding is one of my favorite things to do because it is just an unexplainable feeling shredding through snow and doing tricks that make you soar through the air for what seems years. Its also a great thing to do with friends when you have nothing else to do.
I also really love skateboarding because I am a snowboarder and during the summer there is no snow to go snowboarding so I like enjoying the next best thing which happens to be skateboarding. Skateboarding in my opinion is much more difficult though because you are not strapped into the board.
